For Porcupine NF Campground: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to visit Hope and hike in the area. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weekend in late August. This is a nice, clean CG a mile from Hope. There are approximately 30 primitive (no hookups) sites arrayed on a loop. There are a mix of tent only, back in and pull through sites. Some are nearer the water with views while the others are in the forest. The sites are generously sized and surrounded by trees for shade and privacy. The parking pads are paved and most require some leveling. There're pit toilets and trash bins. There are water pumps without threaded hoses to fill an RV. There's no dump station. There's good ATT and Verizon cell service. We enjoyed spending time in the town of Hope. It's busy on weekends. The Seaview Cafe has good food. The Seaview bar has live music on weekends. There are gift shops, a library and a museum. The trails to Hope Point/Summit and Gull Rock start in the CG.

Larry

For Porcupine NF Campground: Nice off the beaten trail camp ground. Hope is a special little town that is bypassed by most travelers. They probably like it that way. The pinks are running and fishing is good.

Bryan

For Porcupine NF Campground: Very nice campground....we enjoyed our stay. My Allstays app said it was rv only.....not true. It old be nice if it was though. Seems like the tenters have about half of the sites taken up. The weekends seem to attract loud noisy yahoos from Anchorage. Oh well.....that's the way it goes.

Pam

For Porcupine NF Campground: Great spacious campground. Just a few sites on the water. Others are in the forest. Level paved sites most back in. If you don't have a reservation get there by lunchtime as available spaces fill quickly on weekends. We had a moose and calf walk through our campground. Clean pit toilets. We would return.

RevealingWorld

For Porcupine NF Campground: Great campground set beautifully on the Turnagain Arm.. only a handful of water-view sites but others are set in beautiful forest. It has been recently updated with nice pit toilets and pavement. Spots still require leveling but not extreme. Tables and grills are new and great! The best part is the space between sites.. It is easy to find some decent privacy or at least it feels like it after being around hoards of campers in other spots in the Kenai like Seward, Homer, etc.
