For Williwaw NF Campground: Williwaw is a great dry campground. Paved paths, large sites, clean bathrooms, clean water from hand pumps, and incredible trails leading to Portage glacier.

For Williwaw NF Campground: Ditto what DSVT says! If this place had electric it would be 5 star! Fairly new paved roads and sites with oversized pads. Most of the eastern loop, towards portage, are walk-ins but don’t show as such on website. Plenty of hike/bike trails nearby and through the camp. Sites are very private as surrounding forest is thick. As such not many sites have any view.

For Williwaw NF Campground: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore and hike in the Portage/Whittier area. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in late July and the CG did not fill during our stay. This is a very nice primitive (no hookups) CG. There are about 60 sites arrayed in 2 loops. There're a mix of back in and pull through sites. All are paved and mostly level. Most are quite large and surrounded by trees for shade and privacy. There's no dump station. There're potable water pumps, no hose connections to fill an RV. There's a strong ATT cell signal and weak Verizon. There are several walking trail throughout the CG. It's 1.5 miles from the Chugach NF Visitor Center on Portage Lake which is helpful and informative. The CG is on the Portage side of the tunnel with access to several hiking trails and glacier views. The Whittier side of the tunnel includes the small town of Whittier and additional hiking trails (Portage Pass is quite nice) and more glaciers.

For Williwaw NF Campground: Spent 1 night here but could have stayed much longer. Private sites surrounded by trees. We stayed in Site 20 with our 39ft 5th wheel and had lots of room for the truck and trailer. Nice large picnic tables with fire pits. Highly recommend this campground.

For Williwaw NF Campground: We’ve been to this campground in the past. They are simply not taking care of it! The little seedlings ate take over if they start mowing the sides of the drives.
Compared to how beautiful this campground used to be it’s gone to rack n ruin
Too bad

For Williwaw NF Campground: Campground is very nicely lauded out. Sites are private and will accommodate a big rig. The only compliant would be the road noise. There is gravel mining about a mile away from the campground and the trucks rattle by all hours of the day and night Also no dump station

For Williwaw NF Campground: This is a great forest service campground. All the roads and spaces are paved and the sites were good size. We arrived around 6 pm on a Saturday and found a pull through. Trails and boardwalks from the campground are great for exploring the area. Ranger programs in the evening. Would definitely stay here again.
