For Rest Stop: We came only for the advertised dump station. The dump station is closed due to construction.

For Rest Stop: Generous amount of RV parking. But it is heavily used. Restrooms are clean. Busy rest stop. Two EV charging stations.

For Rest Stop: Oct 2019: This rest area is generally cleaner and maintained a little better than many other California rest areas, although don’t expect too much. The most central area has some irrigated lawn and shade trees, along with several concrete picnic tables under roofed shelters. The Pet Areas are at the outer edges of lawn area and are fairly clean (but still watch your step). There are several very prominent but apparently infrequently used doggie bag dispensers throughout the area. The outer areas are beyond suffering from a lack of irrigation over the past year or so. In that time the vegetation in those areas has degenerated into baked earth and thick dust. Where once there was some field grass and shrubs there is now only bare dirt, including some areas that are now used by the commercial trucks for overflow parking. If you hadn’t seen this area a year or two ago you would not even suspect there had once been some grass and shrubs on these outer areas. The truck parking lot is overflowing, with trucks parked everywhere available, including on the entry and exit lanes out onto the highway shoulders. If you’re an RV in the truck lot you will not be appreciated by the truckers, and be advised, they don’t hide that. I was glad my rig fits in the auto area. There are a few vehicles that have obviously been parked much, much longer than the posted 8-hour limit, and their owners appear to be longer term “visitorsâ€. The dump station is as previous reviewers have described. There is no hose at the rinse water spigot, just a valve with hose threads. The freshwater spigot flows when the spring loaded top of the spigot is pressed. The water then runs for about 5 to 10 seconds before it shuts off. The flow is around 1 gallon per minute. If you are going to fill a large tank you will be pushing on that spigot over and over for a long time. As noted in other reviews there are no threads on the spigot, so using a hose is a challenge. A “water bandit†or similar doesn’t work well because the spigot is so skinny.

For Rest Stop: Great for overnight parking and rest. Very busy with lots of trucks. Dump station easily accessible on way out but portable water spigot is not threaded to hook up hose.

For Rest Stop: Lots of overflow space to park for 8 hours with the trucks. Doesnt fill up with trucks. Good pet run area away from traffic.

For Rest Stop: Parked overnight. Little auto use in winter months, heavy truck use, but still a quiet stop overall. There is a 8-hr stay limit in all CalTrans Rest Areas statewide.
