For Castle Mountain - Banff National Park: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to hiking trails in the southern half of Banff NP. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed for a week in early September in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH.
This is a pleasant small CG. The sites are arrayed in one loop. Sites are dirt/gravel, all different sizes and most need a bit of leveling. Some are more suited for tents while others are better for RVs. Sites are mostly shaded with some brush for privacy. There's a washroom with hot/cold running water which we did not use. There're water spigots in the park that can be used to fill RV tanks. There's no dump station. There are dump stations in Johnson Canyon, Banff and Lake Louise (unclear if free or fee). There's no wifi. There's good ATT and Verizon cell coverage while roaming on Rogers.
This CG is with a 30-minutes drive of hiking trails in southern Banff NP and eastern Kootenay NP. It's also 30 minutes from Banff (full service town, RV parking, visitor centre) and 30 minutes from Lake Louise (partial services, limited RV parking, suggest use overflow parking area 5km (3 mi) south of town, visitor centre).
