The Stewart Inn a Wausau Hotel is a beautifully restored and comfortably furnished 1906 Prairie style mansion designed by George Maher, one of the founders of the American Arts and Crafts movement and a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright. Featuring original chandeliers, sconces, decorative fireplaces and stained glass windows, the Stewart Inn is arguably the world’s most intact example of George Maher’s architecture.

The Stewart Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places in Wausau and was the first property in Wausau to be accepted on the Register. It is on the southwestern edge of the beautiful Andrew Warren Historic District where you will find the Cyrus Yawkey Museum, the Marathon County Historical Museum (both of which prominently feature George Maher’s architecture) and Wausau's Museum of Contemporary Art.
